Huihui Cheng: In-visible strings

Short Description / Kurzbeschreibung

In-visible strings
The string quartet is a classical ensemble with a rich repertoire. We have sought to extend its possibilities by offering it a new framework. The title of the piece, In-visible strings, has a double meaning. The notion of invisibility led us to isolate the gestures of the performers and to create common images between stage and screen to make the acoustic sound as “visible” as possible. Thus we chose the rope as the central and circular element, present and invisible, which propagates the sound and connects bodies and objects.
